Requirements for LPC-Associate Licensure in Texas

To begin supervision, you must:

  1. Earn a Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology with board-approved coursework

  2. Pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and Texas Jurisprudence Exam

  3. Secure an LPC-S supervisor and sign a supervision agreement

  4. Submit your application to the Texas LPC Board (processing typically takes 4–6 weeks)
